Similar to Storm Claudia swept through the northwest the prior day, Manchester City swept the visitors aside at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 win for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that truly announced their championship potential as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Consecutive Setbacks for United

This result represented successive WSL defeats for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since spring 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.

United’s ability to juggle league and European football with a limited squad has been a hotly discussed issue since they secured entry to the UCL.
